DESCRIPTION:Join Conservation Nebraska for a fun\, free\, and educational event with Ted LaGrange\, the Wetland Program Manager for Nebraska Game and Parks. This event will take place at Heron Haven’s Nature Center located at 11809 Old Maple Rd\, Omaha\, NE 68164.\nThis event will discuss wetlands in Nebraska\, why they are important\, as well as conservation and restoration of wetlands in Nebraska. After the presentation and the Q&A section\, which will run from 1pm-2pm\, if you would like you can stay to watch a short wetland documentary made by Nebraska Game and Parks!\nSpace is limited\, so please register in advance for this event! https://secure.ngpvan.com/RsUa3xwFFUisiweGFAfFVg2\nPlease note\, they will be working on renovating the building. SUMMARY:Volunteer Day!
DESCRIPTION:RSVP: https://forms.gle/qyP2S3LCJDTtyAXM8\nJoin us for a hands-on conservation day at Heron Haven! We’ll be tackling habitat and trail maintenance such as invasive bush honeysuckle\, trimming trail branches\, lining the trail with logs\, spreading seeds\, and more. There will be a morning (9AM-Noon) and afternoon (1PM-4PM) volunteer session. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Heron Haven will be providing volunteers with lunch at noon in between the two volunteer sessions along with snack and water throughout the day. Participation in this volunteer activity does require signing a safety waiver which will be available the day of.————————————————————————-We encourage volunteers to bring their own loppers\, pruning shears\, and hand saws to help remove Honeysuckle and trim branches. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves\, safety glasses\, and water bottle to ensure their safety and comfort. We also recommend wearing closed-toe shoes\, pants\, and a long sleeve shirt. DESCRIPTION:Spring has sprung and with that comes exciting new club changes! First up\, we are so happy to announce the clubs new leader Jennifer Villotta! She is a nature photographer that loves the open road and different perspectives! She will be an awesome addition and we’re excited for the creativity\, energy\, and fresh ideas she’s bring to the group!\nNext up\, we’ve heard your feedback and are happy to introduce a more consistent meeting time! The Photography Club will now meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM\, making it easier than ever to plan ahead and stay involved.\nLastly\, feel free to come early for our fun new Photo Walk\, starting around 8:00 AM. Enjoy a relaxed walk along Heron Haven’s trails\, let your camera shoot freely\, and connect with fellow photography enthusiasts along the way.\nWhether you’re a beginner or a seasoned photographer\, all Heron Haven members are welcome\, and we hope to see you there!
